New developments must provide electric infrastructure for build-out
Residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-use developments must provide underground conduit, vaults, transformer pads, easements and related infrastructure required by the applicable electric service provider. The infrastructure must be designed and installed to serve the development at its ultimate build-out. The ordinance takes effect 30 days after publication. Staff said construction drawings would reflect the new requirements to ensure adequate infrastructure for electric providers. Staff also said state regulations require all site developments to be electric-ready, citing electric-vehicle charging stations as an example.
