Severance sets Dec. 8 hearing on Buffalo Creek annexation
The hearing is set for 6 p.m. at the Severance Town Council Chambers, 3 S. Timber Ridge Pkwy. The council will determine whether the proposed annexation meets constitutional and state-law requirements.
The Severance Town Council on Tuesday set a Dec. 8 public hearing on a proposed annexation of 18.68 acres at Buffalo Creek.
The hearing is set for 6 p.m. at the Severance Town Council Chambers, 3 S. Timber Ridge Pkwy. The council will determine whether the proposed annexation meets constitutional and state-law requirements. It approved a resolution finding the Buffalo Creek Annexation No. 6 petition substantially compliant with state petition requirements. The annexation map lists the land’s existing Weld County zoning as Agriculture and its proposed Severance zoning as Suburban Perimeter.
A town staff member said Buffalo Creek was originally annexed in 2017, but Annexation No. 6 was omitted when the plat was recorded. Town research has not determined why it was left out, the staff member said. The parcel “needs to be put back in” before a development application already on file can move forward, the staff member said.
