Fort Collins Wellness Studio Hosts Restorative Workshop December 6

The Movement Apothecary will host a two-hour wellness workshop combining multiple relaxation techniques on December 6 from 6 to 8 PM at its Fort Collins location.

The "Re+Center" workshop will include breathwork, Emotional Freedom Techniques tapping, restorative yoga with Reiki, and a sound bath featuring drums, crystal singing bowls and chimes. The session begins with participants creating a communal altar before moving through the various practices.

The event marks another offering from The Movement Apothecary, which has operated in Fort Collins since 2018 under founder and owner Katie Kline. The studio specializes in holistic wellness services at its South College Avenue location.

Kline holds certifications as an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance, a Reiki Master Teacher through the International Center for Reiki Training, and a certified EFT practitioner through the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology.

Research on the wellness practices featured in the workshop varies in scope. Multiple randomized controlled trials have examined EFT tapping, with a 2022 systematic review published in Frontiers in Psychology identifying 56 trials examining its effects on psychological conditions including anxiety and depression. Studies on restorative yoga published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology have documented reductions in anxiety and improvements in sleep quality. Research on sound bath therapy and Reiki remains more limited, though some studies have reported changes in stress markers.

None of these wellness practices require state licensing in Colorado, though practitioners often pursue professional certifications through organizations in their respective fields.

The workshop takes place the same day as New Belgium Brewing's Winter Maker's Market, also scheduled for December 6 in Fort Collins.
