Fort Collins council reappoints seven assistant municipal judges

The Fort Collins City Council voted Tuesday to reappoint seven assistant municipal judges as part of its consent agenda. The action approved Resolutions 2026-081 through 2026-087, giving Brandi Nieto, Kristin Brown, Sarah Simchowitz, Laura Hinojos, Whitney Stark, Linda Cooke and Jana Kaspar new two-year terms and authorizing their employment agreements.

The reappointments were included in Consent Item 23. Under the City Charter, assistant municipal judges serve two-year terms, and Chief Judge Jill A. Hueser recommended reappointing the current assistant judges.
