Larimer County Respiratory Disease Update - 01/07/2026
Larimer County hospitals reported a total of six respiratory virus hospitalizations for the week ending January 4, with influenza leading but COVID-19 and RSV both at low levels. Three people were hospitalized with flu, two with COVID-19, and one with RSV during the latest reporting week of the 2025–26 season.
Emergency departments are seeing a moderate share of visits for respiratory illness, with influenza-like illness still the main driver. So far this season, older adults and very young children continue to account for most serious cases: people 65 and older make up the majority of COVID-19 and flu hospitalizations, while children 0–4 years old account for over half of RSV hospital stays.
