Larimer County Coroner Identifies Victims in Fort Collins Domestic Shooting
The Larimer County Coroner's Office has identified two individuals who died following a September 30 shooting at an apartment in Fort Collins, ruling one death a homicide and the other a suicide.
Marcus E. Jackson, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene in the 100 block of West Fairway Lane. Alyssa Paige Reardon, 18, was transported to the Medical Center of the Rockies where she died October 1 from her injuries. Both were Fort Collins residents.
Dr. J. White performed full forensic autopsies on both individuals October 2 at the Larimer County Forensic Sciences Center. The coroner determined Jackson died from gunshot wounds in what officials ruled a suicide. Reardon died from a gunshot wound in what officials classified as a homicide.
The Larimer County Coroner's Office responds to death scenes involving violence or suspicious circumstances under Colorado Revised Statute 30-10-606, conducting medicolegal investigations that include evidence collection and witness interviews, according to the office's operational procedures. Forensic autopsies are ordered when necessary to determine cause of death in cases involving violence.
