District plan sets staff training and coaching

From the Thompson School District Board of Education meeting of

The board adopted the district’s 2026-2028 District Unified Improvement Plan, in year one of a two-year cycle. The Colorado Department of Education requires the plan and board approval before submission. The cost estimate lists $127,800 for two years of Solution Tree MTSS work, $28,800.00 for Solution Tree’s Aug. 2026 Essential Standards Kick-Off, $241,500 for All Learners Network professional development and coaching, and $120,000 for All Learners Online on-demand professional development. The listed funding sources are the General Fund (Mill accounts)/PD budget and Title II; the costs are marked budgeted. With a proposed July 2026 start, the plan provides for staff training over the next two years through district PD days, Continuous Improvement Team days, in-building coaching, EC-12 meetings, levels meetings and late start Wednesdays. Its Implementation Progress Monitoring Plan outlines how implementation will be measured, with semester checkpoints. The district plans to share local MOY and EOY results and reflect on the impact of plan actions. The plan identifies implementation of expected practices as a challenge and lists leadership training, teacher collaboration, professional learning and in-building coaching among its supports.

Adopted with the consent agenda (carried).
