Estes Park board approves 2026 Rooftop Rodeo stock contract renewal

The Estes Park Town Board voted Tuesday to approve Resolution 77-26, renewing the 2026 Rooftop Rodeo stock-contractor agreement with Cervi Championship Rodeo. The action keeps the longtime rodeo vendor in place for next year after town staff said the 2025 renewal had not been brought to the board for approval and was being presented now to correct that process lapse.

Trustee Bill Brown said Cervi Championship Rodeo has served as the event's stock contractor for 11 years and provides the livestock, key personnel, equipment and other essentials needed for a PRCA rodeo. Brown said the agreement is a budgeted item and that the town can renew it up to two times.

The contract renewal was listed as Resolution 77-26. Supporting agenda materials said the agreement was another example of a policy-governance and signatory-authority lapse involving contracts above $100,000, similar to an issue reported earlier this year. Mayor Gary Hall opened the item for public comment, but none was offered.

Trustee Mark Igel then moved to approve the resolution, and Trustee Frank Lancaster seconded it. The board proceeded to a vote and moved on to the next agenda item without discussion.
