Fort Collins' independent downtown theater The Lyric will present back-to-back drag performances on December 12 and 13, offering audiences themed entertainment spanning Broadway-inspired spectacle and Western holiday celebration.

The weekend programming begins December 12 with "Wicked for Drag," featuring eight performers including Jenna Tavia as Elphaba, Miss Jewdy as Glinda, and Vegina Quartz as Madame Morrible. The cast also includes Private Royce as Fiyero, Magnus Magnesia as Boq, Marceline Thee Drag Queen as Nessarose, Ambrose as The Wizard, and Yung Raccoon as Dr. Dillamond.

The following evening, December 13, the venue will host "Cowboy XXX-mas," a holiday-themed show with Western styling. Private Royce and Ambrose will return as hosts for the Saturday performance, which features King Kase, Evan Essence, Midnite A Rose, and Banna Meanshot.

The Lyric has expanded its programming offerings throughout December, including a Thursday night Christmas movie series and a December 7 holiday market featuring Goth Santa photo opportunities.

According to Atlas Obscura, The Lyric opened in 2007 as a locally owned independent movie theater and has since diversified its programming to include live music performances and special events. R Bar and Lounge on East Laurel Street serves as Fort Collins's primary LGBTQ+ venue with regular drag programming, according to Westword.

Tickets for both drag performances are available through The Lyric's website or at the concessions counter. The venue is located on College Avenue in downtown Fort Collins.
