The Lyric Announces December Christmas Movie Series in Fort Collins
The Lyric will screen classic Christmas films every Thursday in December as part of a holiday retrospective series at the Fort Collins theater.
The four-week series kicks off December 4 with "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" (1989), followed by "The Muppet Christmas Carol" (1992) on December 11, "Elf" (2003) on December 18, and concluding with "Die Hard" (1988) on December 25.
The Thursday evening screenings represent a seasonal programming strategy common among independent theaters in Colorado, which frequently use nostalgic film retrospectives to attract multigenerational audiences during the winter months.
The Lyric previously announced it will host Goth Santa on December 7 during the Family Band Holiday Market, part of a broader effort by the locally owned theater to serve as a cultural venue during the holiday season.
The independent cinema, located at 1209 N. College Avenue, has operated in Fort Collins since 2007 and moved to its current purpose-built facility in 2017. According to property records, the theater is privately owned and known for eclectic programming that includes independent films, classic cinema showings, and live events.
Tickets for the Christmas retrospective series are available online or at the theater's concessions counter.
The Lyric's December programming adds to a growing list of holiday events across Northern Colorado, including free Saturday parking in downtown Fort Collins through January 3 and holiday markets at Foothills Mall.
