The City of Loveland will close all administrative offices November 27 and November 28 in observance of Thanksgiving, while police and fire departments maintain regular operations and essential services continue for vulnerable populations.

Municipal Court, utility billing offices and all administrative buildings will close both days. Utility payments can be submitted online or through drop-off locations during the closure. Loveland Pulse customers can access technical support at 970-744-4226 or manage accounts online throughout the holiday period.

Police and fire departments will provide uninterrupted emergency response services. The Loveland Resource Center and South Railroad Facility Shelter will remain open during normal business hours to serve individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability.

Trash Collection Delayed One Day

Residential curbside trash and recycling collection scheduled for November 27 will occur November 28, a one-day delay that mirrors practices in Fort Collins and Greeley. The adjustment accommodates holiday observation for sanitation staff and landfill closures on Thanksgiving Day.

The Recycling Center will close November 27 and reopen November 28 with regular hours.

Regional municipalities have maintained consistent Thanksgiving closure patterns for more than a decade, according to city holiday schedules dating to 2015. Greeley announced November 12 that administrative buildings will close both days with similar service adjustments. Fort Collins administrative offices will also close November 27 and November 28, with most recreation facilities remaining closed Thanksgiving Day.

Recreation Facilities Resume Modified Operations

The Chilson Recreation Center will close November 27 and reopen November 28 with regular hours. Golf Loveland will close November 27 and reopen November 28 weather permitting.

Loveland Public Library will close November 27 and resume normal operations November 28. The library received a $10,000 grant from Carnegie Corporation of New York on November 19 to support expanded programming and community outreach in 2026.

The Chilson Senior Center will remain closed both November 27 and November 28.

Visit Loveland operates two visitor center locations with different holiday schedules. The East Gateway location will close November 27 and reopen November 28. The downtown location will remain closed both days.

Transit and Cultural Facilities

City of Loveland Transit bus service will not operate November 27, with offices closed both November 27 and November 28. Regular weekday schedules resume December 1.

Loveland Museum will remain closed both November 27 and November 28. The Rialto Theater will present regularly scheduled events, though the box office will be closed. Tickets can be purchased at RialtoTheaterCenter.org.

Emergency Services and Utility Reporting

Residents can report power outages, water or wastewater emergencies and streetlight outages to City of Loveland Utilities at lovgov.org/PowerOutage. For life-threatening emergencies, residents should dial 911. Non-emergency incidents can be reported to Loveland Police Department at 970-667-2151.

The city's distinction between continuous safety services and administrative closures aligns with standard municipal practices throughout Northern Colorado and public safety guidelines established for holiday operations.

Administrative offices will reopen with standard schedules December 1. Additional information about city services and holiday schedules is available at lovgov.org.
