Wellington Lil Monsters Playground Installs Little Free Library for Young Readers
Lil Monsters Playground has installed a Little Free Library at its Wellington location, expanding book access for families visiting the indoor play facility.
The Wellington site follows the Windsor location, which previously installed its own Little Free Library. Both locations now offer the community book exchange boxes, which operate on a take-a-book, return-a-book model.
The playground has stocked the new Wellington library with children's books to start the collection. Families can take books home when visiting either facility. To encourage ongoing book circulation, Lil Monsters Playground offers $1 off admission for each book donation at either location.
The Little Free Library movement began in 2009 in Hudson, Wisconsin, and has grown to include over 150,000 registered book exchange boxes in 115 countries, according to the official Little Free Library organization. Both Wellington and Windsor have multiple registered Little Free Libraries throughout their communities, appearing on the organization's global directory.
The free book exchanges are maintained by stewards who keep the collections accessible and in good condition. The libraries aim to remove barriers to book access and promote community literacy.
Lil Monsters Playground operates indoor play facilities in Wellington and Windsor. The business partners with regional libraries including Clearview Library District, which offers free admission passes to families through its Adventure Pass program.
The playground's book donation program supports literacy initiatives while providing families an incentive to refresh their home libraries and share books with the broader community.
