Chewy Vet Care Opening First Northern Colorado Clinic in Fort Collins
Chewy Vet Care is opening its first Northern Colorado veterinary clinic at 2860 E Harmony Road in Fort Collins, according to a commercial building permit filed with the city.
The new veterinary practice will occupy 2,787 square feet in the Harmony Marketplace shopping center, transforming space previously used by Carbon Health urgent care. The tenant improvement includes new interior partition walls, updated flooring, wall and ceiling finishes, and installation of new lighting and electrical distribution systems.
The project also includes new HVAC ducting and plumbing work, with existing rooftop HVAC units being replaced. MG2 Architecture is handling the design, with Alison Howard listed as the applicant on the permit.
Chewy Vet Care operates as a veterinary clinic brand owned by Chewy, Inc., the publicly traded online pet supply retailer. The clinics integrate with Chewy's e-commerce platform, allowing seamless prescription management and access to digital health records for pet owners already using the company's online services.
The veterinary practices offer primary care, wellness exams, diagnostics and minor procedures. The business model connects in-clinic services with Chewy's pet pharmacy and broader digital pet health ecosystem.
Chewy launched its first veterinary clinics in 2024 as part of a national expansion into brick-and-mortar healthcare services. The Fort Collins location represents the company's entry into the Northern Colorado market, with no other Chewy Vet Care clinics currently operating in Loveland, Windsor, Greeley or surrounding Larimer and Weld County communities.
The Harmony Road corridor serves as a primary commercial artery through southeast Fort Collins, featuring dense retail development anchored by major grocery stores and national chains. The address sits in a multi-tenant retail center that includes Jimmy John's and other service businesses.
Carbon Health, which previously occupied the space, is a technology-driven healthcare startup founded in San Francisco in 2015. The company operates urgent care and primary care clinics nationally, combining in-person visits with virtual health services.
Recent months have seen several new businesses announce Fort Collins locations in commercial corridors across the city, including Prime IV Hydration on South College Avenue and Japon Express along Harmony Road.
No opening date has been announced for the Chewy Vet Care clinic. The construction permit remains active with Fort Collins' building department. Osvaldo Velez serves as jobsite contact for the project and can be reached at 786-255-6678.
