Quiet-zone property acquisition would proceed

From the Greeley City Council meeting of

The ordinance would authorize Greeley to acquire or condemn property interests, including access rights, for the 13th Street Quiet Zone. The council determined that the interests identified in Exhibit A were necessary for the project and that acquiring them would serve residents’ public health, safety and general welfare, though Exhibit A contains no property descriptions. The ordinance would direct city staff, consultants and legal counsel to continue acquisition or condemnation efforts while allowing good-faith voluntary negotiations, including purchase, and would ratify prior negotiations and notices of intent to acquire. It would take effect five days after final publication.

Passed on first reading with the consent agenda (carried, 7-0).
