Greeley corrects firefighter pay tables showing 4% yearly raises

From the Greeley City Council meeting of

The corrected schedules take effect Jan. 1 and Dec. 30, 2027, replacing old hourly tables in the agreement’s appendices with rates calculated from annual salaries.

The Greeley City Council adopted corrected pay tables for its agreement with the Greeley Firefighters Union IAFF Local 888, showing a 4% wage increase in both 2027 and 2028.

The 2027 schedule takes effect Jan. 1, 2027, and the 2028 schedule takes effect Dec. 30, 2027. The tables list Firefighter I annual pay at $114,004 for 2027 and $118,564 for 2028. A firefighter recruit is listed at $79,803 for 2027 and $82,995 for 2028.

After the city adopted the original agreement, old hourly tables appeared in its appendices instead of tables showing the new rates calculated from annual salaries, a staff member told the council. “There's no additional fiscal impact associated with this amendment,” the staff member said. The union was consulted but did not need to formally approve changes that corrected the appendices rather than negotiated terms, the staff member said.
