$250,000 grant sought for Sheep Draw underpass

From the Greeley City Council meeting of

The adopted resolution authorizes Greeley’s Culture, Parks and Recreation Department to apply to the Colorado Department of Natural Resources for a $250,000 construction grant. The project would build about 1,500 LF of 10’ wide concrete trail at 83rd Avenue, connecting two Sheep Draw Trail segments beneath the bridge and across Sheep Draw Creek; construction is tentatively planned for 2028. The grant application says trail users seeking to cross 83rd Avenue must travel 1.6 miles out of their way to use the 20th Street roundabout, and that the connection would give residents west of 83rd Avenue uninterrupted off-street access to the regional Poudre River Trail.

Adopted with the consent agenda (carried, 7-0).
