Windsor approves floodplain code changes tied to Larimer County maps

The amendments update flood damage prevention rules after a clerical error in the municipal code was corrected; the board approved them on second reading Oct. 12.

The Windsor Town Board approved flood damage prevention code changes tied to the 2026 Larimer County flood maps and flood insurance study on second reading Oct. 12.

After the first reading Sept. 28, Windsor received feedback from FEMA through the Colorado Water Conservation Board, a staff member told the board. A FEMA concern about Windsor’s floodplain ordinance was a clerical error in the municipal code, which the town clerk corrected. “FEMA has no comments on our ordinance, and CWCB has no comments,” the staff member said.
