On Oct. 12, 2026, Weld County approved an agreement with Xcel Energy to relocate electric facilities for the replacement of the bridge at County Road 60.5 and 49A. The project requires moving Xcel’s distribution power line and service lines; the service-line crossing County Road 60.5 west of the bridge will be placed underground to reduce its impact on bridge constructability. Weld County’s $7,283.13 cost for the undergrounding will be included in the 2026 road and bridge budget. The relocation work is likely to be constructed in the spring of 2027.
