Firefighter pay appendices would be replaced

The amendment would replace Appendices A and B of the city’s 2027-28 agreement with IAFF Local 888, which contain firefighter compensation schedules; the agreement’s other terms would remain in force except as amended. The 2027 schedule lists a 4.00% increase from 2026, effective January 1, 2027, and the 2028 schedule lists a 4.00% increase from 2027, effective December 30, 2027. Annual firefighter pay ranges from $69,542 for Single Role EMS to $194,947 for Battalion Chief in 2027, and from $72,324 to $202,744 in 2028; Firefighter I (Basis) pay is $114,004 and $118,564, respectively. ALS and specialist annual pay ranges from $4,560 to $12,540 in 2027 and from $4,743 to $13,042 in 2028. The ordinance would take effect five days after final publication.

Passed on first reading with the consent agenda (carried, 7-0).
