Windsor proclaims trafficking awareness day

Mayor Julie Cline proclaimed October 3, 2026, Human Trafficking Awareness Day in the Town of Windsor. The proclamation invites community members to attend the United to Stop Human Trafficking Summit on October 3rd. Brianna Spica, Colorado Director of United to Stop Human Trafficking, said a case involving a minor last fall required 9 agencies to work together and that the young woman is now thriving. Spica urged prevention and awareness efforts, citing 15,935 cyber tips related to online exploitation in 2024 and 1. 4 million reports of online enticement in 2025, a national increase of 158% in one year.
