Windsor holds off on legal action over Greeley annexation

From the Windsor Town Board meeting of

The board set litigation aside for now, leaving negotiations over potential regional economic-development opportunities and a chance to rebuild working ties between the communities.

The Windsor Town Board decided not to pursue legal action with Greeley over an annexation for now.

“I think it gives us the best opportunity to move forward with Greeley,” a board member said. The member said Windsor and Greeley had not seemed able to get along and hoped they could repair their relationship and work together in the GWEP. Another board member said possible effects on both communities, particularly Windsor, favored setting litigation aside and rebuilding ties with Greeley.

A board member said the member and another board member attended a Greeley session where the annexation was approved on second reading. Setting aside the lawsuit for now would give the communities a chance to talk and work for their residents and the region instead of resorting to lawsuits and threats, the member said. The member said they looked forward to continued negotiations with Greeley about potential regional economic-development opportunities.
