Chili cook-off and school wins

Robert Axmacher said Timnath High School beat Wellington to win the Boxelder Cup two weeks before the meeting, and that students rushed the field and hoisted the trophy. Dennis Strachota said turnout at the chili contest topped 200, each participating club received $100, and Main Street board member Allison Keithley did much of the event’s work. Jeramie Holt said Timnath’s boys golf team won its conference championship for the third year in a row, finishing 30 strokes ahead of Windsor; Grayson Kilburn and Liam Holt placed first and second in conference and earned first-team all-conference honors. Holt said the team was moving on to state championships on 5th, 6th, 7th of October.
