Council members discuss park, trafficking
Council member Dave Bruen said the new community park was looking incredible, with the shelters helping set it off, and thanked everyone who had brought it this far. Mayor Matthew Fries said human trafficking was a national, international and local issue, and that he chose not to read a requested proclamation because the town already read one annually for National Awareness Month and he did not want the two to be confused. Fries said he had been invited to a summit he believed would take place the 2nd and 3rd of October, where a coalition would learn about trafficking and hopefully discuss solutions; he called public awareness key and said he would keep looking for technology that works for residents and helps track criminals, kidnappers and child traffickers.
