The Severance Town Council adopted a resolution Sept. 22, 2026, appointing Marshall Keith Martin as interim town attorney.

A staff member said the interim appointment would run through the end of the year.

Resolution 2026-29R ratifies the Town Manager’s prior execution of an amendment to the engagement agreement between the Town and Widner Juran LLP. A staff member said the resolution ratified a contract already signed with the interim town attorney to ensure attorney services through the end of the year.

A staff member said the town attorney had resigned and that they had found an interim town attorney for the council. Resolution 2026-29R says the council found an interim town attorney necessary while it conducts a search and recruitment for a new town attorney. A staff member said the appointment would allow the council time to decide “whether they would like to go in-house or hire a firm moving forward.”
