Chris Eshelman said the Water Division tour was held last week at the main building off Brook Drive and praised staff presentations; he had nothing to report for the Board of Appeals. Kirby Hazelton said Visit Estes Park’s draft operating plan, which has had an initial board review and input from the Marketing Advisory Committee, is scheduled to come before the Town Board and Board of County Commissioners on October 27th; she believes it will address earlier questions about metrics and measuring the impact of spending, and said it sets the tone for 2027 marketing, strategic decisions and the budget. Hazelton said Zumbaugh is retiring as chief financial officer, local resident Jorge Perez has been hired for the role, and she and Mayor Hall will bring a recommendation for an open Visit Estes Park board seat to the October 13th meeting after interviewing 10 applicants. Frank Lancaster said the Housing Authority would close on Tiny Town on September 30th for property it plans to develop for housing. Mark Igel said CDOT answered his questions about the Highway 36 cameras and that he hoped the response would address concerns about a secret project. Jamie Mieras said a Días de la Muerte art crawl is scheduled for October 2nd and a Day of the Dead event for November 4th.
