Mostly Sunny in Fort Collins Today, But Snow Expected This Weekend

Thursday will be mostly sunny in Fort Collins with a high near 37 degrees and light winds of 3 to 9 mph from the east-northeast. Precipitation chances remain minimal at just 1 percent. However, temperatures will drop significantly overnight, falling to around 5 degrees with a 31 percent chance of light snow after 5 a.m.

Friday brings the most significant weather of the week as snow moves into the area. Light snow will be likely throughout the day with a high of only 17 degrees and a 70 percent chance of precipitation. Wind gusts could reach 21 mph, creating dangerously cold wind chills as low as -10 degrees. Light accumulation of less than half an inch is possible during the day, with an additional 1 to 2 inches expected Friday night as snow continues with similar precipitation chances.

The weekend will remain cold and unsettled. Saturday will see a 34 percent chance of light snow before 5 p.m. with a high near 14 degrees, then plunge to -3 degrees Saturday night. Conditions improve Sunday with mostly sunny skies and a high of 23 degrees. Temperatures will warm significantly early next week, reaching 45 degrees Monday and climbing to 48 degrees by Tuesday and Wednesday.
