Larimer County Pushes eNotices Before January Tax Mailing

Larimer County Treasurer Irene Josey is urging property owners to enroll in eNotices before tax statements mail by the end of January 2026. The shift could replace more than 160,000 annual mailed statements and postcards with electronic delivery.

The move could sharply cut paper use and mailing costs, though it raises access questions for seniors and rural residents who rely on paper notices.

Property owners can enroll at larimer.gov/treasurer. For questions, contact the Treasurer & Public Trustee's Office at 970-498-7020 or [email protected].

"eNotices is a convenient option that saves time and supports sustainability," Josey said in a county announcement.

Larimer County mails nearly 90,000 paper tax statements and more than 70,000 postcards annually.

Adoption has been slow. In 2025, Larimer County reported that over 5,419 of 165,705 property owners—roughly 3%—chose electronic delivery.

The push raises equity concerns for some groups. Seniors, residents without reliable internet, and some rural property owners still depend on mailed notices for property tax information.

Tax statements for 2025 taxes payable in 2026 are scheduled to mail by the end of January 2026, giving property owners only a short window to switch before the next wave of tax statements arrives.
