Fort Collins Museum of Discovery Offers Free Year-Long Memberships to Poudre School District Early Childhood Families
Families enrolled in Poudre School District's Early Childhood Education Program for the 2025-2026 school year can claim free year-long memberships to Fort Collins Museum of Discovery and Gardens on Spring Creek during a special activation event on November 14.
The Early Childhood Parents and Children Together Activation Day runs from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the museum, located at 408 Mason Court in Fort Collins. Families actively enrolled in the district's early childhood programs can apply for or activate their complimentary memberships during the event.
The partnership between PSD and the museum supports the district's early childhood education goals by providing hands-on learning experiences outside the classroom. According to district program evaluations, exposure to community-based learning resources improves school readiness and long-term parent engagement.
The free memberships provide enrolled families with unlimited general admission to the museum, access to member-only events and discounts, and opportunities for regular informal learning experiences throughout the year.
PSD's Early Childhood Education Program serves children from prenatal through age five across 22 elementary schools and five community sites within the district's 1,800-square-mile service area. The program offers both no-cost and tuition-based preschool options, with eligibility determined by residency, income, special needs, or other qualifying criteria.
The Fort Collins Museum of Discovery, which opened at its current location in 2012 through a public-private partnership between the City of Fort Collins and a nonprofit organization, focuses on hands-on science and culture programming. The museum has been accredited by the American Alliance of Museums since 2018 and offers approximately 400 unique programs annually.
The Parents and Children Together initiative emphasizes shared learning experiences between caregivers and children, promoting family bonding while supporting developmental growth in areas including social-emotional skills, language, literacy, and early science concepts.
The museum recently announced plans for "AbunDANCE: A Giving Rave" on November 21, a community dance party and winter donation drive to support homeless families.
Families interested in the November 14 activation event should visit the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM with proof of active enrollment in PSD's Early Childhood Education Program for the 2025-2026 school year.
