Food Bank for Larimer County Brings Mobile Market to Poudre High School
The Food Bank for Larimer County will distribute free groceries at Poudre High School on November 13 from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m., offering fresh proteins, produce and pantry staples to Larimer County residents.
The mobile market at 201 S. Impala Drive in Fort Collins will provide chicken tenderloin, eggs, bacon, deli turkey, fresh apples, potatoes, spaghetti squash and various shelf-stable items including pasta, sauce, pancake mix and crackers.
The mobile market program, which launched in October 2016, brings free groceries directly to neighborhoods where residents face transportation barriers or live far from traditional food pantries, according to the Food Bank's website. The organization operates three regular mobile market routes throughout Larimer County in partnership with local organizations.
All mobile market locations operate on a client-choice model, allowing residents to select items that meet their household needs. As of July 1, participants must provide proof of Larimer County residency and identification, but no income verification is required.
The Food Bank served more than 22,500 individuals through its Fresh Food Share program, which includes mobile markets, during fiscal year 2022. The mobile market program previously visited west Fort Collins locations earlier this month.
The organization, established in 1984, distributed over 7.9 million meals and snacks in 2022 and serves as Larimer County's only Feeding America-affiliated food clearinghouse. The Food Bank operates two permanent no-cost markets in Fort Collins and Loveland in addition to its mobile program.
Fort Collins-area residents can access a complete schedule of mobile market locations and times through the Food Bank's online food finder map at foodbanklarimer.org/mobiles. The schedule updates regularly to reflect changes due to weather or logistics.
