Two Fort Collins-rooted outdoor lifestyle brands are joining forces for a collaborative product launch party on November 14 in Old Town, bringing live music, giveaways, and storewide discounts to downtown shoppers.

The OtterBox x Topo Designs launch party will take place from 4 to 6 PM at both the OtterShop at 151 West Mountain Avenue and Topo Designs at 130 South College Avenue. The event will feature live music by Luke Hahnzollo, food and drinks, giveaways, and a 20 percent discount on all merchandise at both locations.

The collaboration brings together OtterBox, the Fort Collins-based protective case manufacturer founded in 1998, and Topo Designs, the outdoor gear company that launched from a Fort Collins basement in 2008 before relocating its headquarters to Denver. Both brands maintain strong retail presences in Fort Collins and share a focus on durable, functional products designed for outdoor lifestyles.

OtterBox was established by Curt Richardson, who began creating waterproof cases in his garage before officially founding the company. The business has grown into a nationally recognized manufacturer of protective cases for mobile devices, outdoor coolers, and lifestyle accessories, with its flagship OtterShop serving as a brand experience center in Old Town.

Topo Designs was founded by Jedd Rose and Mark Hansen with a mission to create versatile backpacks and gear that blend outdoor utility with urban style. The company opened its Fort Collins retail location in April 2015, maintaining ties to the community where much of its early product development took place. Topo manufactures backpacks, travel bags, outdoor apparel, and accessories using durable materials like Cordura nylon.

The OtterShop has hosted community events previously, including a First Friday gathering featuring local artisans and workshops earlier this month.

Fort Collins has earned recognition as a hub for outdoor lifestyle brands, with both companies contributing to the city's reputation for innovation in outdoor gear and technology. The partnership highlights Old Town's role as a showcase for locally grown businesses that have achieved national reach while maintaining community connections.
