Edison's Ice Cream will offer 25 percent off ice cream flights November 7 to celebrate the Downtown Holiday Lighting Ceremony and its first holiday season in Fort Collins.

The promotion runs all day at the shop's location at 172 N College Avenue in Old Town, just steps from Old Town Square where the annual lighting ceremony takes place. The ceremony traditionally occurs on the first Friday in November and draws 2,000 to 3,000 attendees for the official lighting, according to the Downtown Fort Collins Business Association.

Each ice cream flight includes four mini scoops in customer-selected flavors, topped with house-made waffle cone chips. The flights are designed for sharing or for customers wanting to sample multiple flavors.

Edison's Ice Cream opened its flagship parlor in spring 2025 inside the historic Northern Hotel. The locally owned business began in 2024 as an ice cream cart serving Northern Colorado at private and community events before opening its brick-and-mortar location.

The shop specializes in locally handcrafted, small-batch ice cream made with natural ingredients without artificial dyes or flavors. Edison's offers dairy, non-dairy, and gluten-free options among its 12 signature flavors and rotating seasonal selections.

The Downtown Holiday Lighting Ceremony marks the start of Fort Collins' holiday season, with over 22 blocks of historic Old Town illuminated with LED lights decorating trees, storefronts, and buildings. The displays remain lit through Valentine's Day.

Edison's is owned and operated by Nate and Krisanna Frary, who also have ownership experience with Dutch Bros coffee shops in Northern Colorado. The company has announced plans for a second location in downtown Greeley, projected to open in 2026 or earlier depending on renovations and permitting.

The shop's interior design reflects a vintage 1950s ice cream parlor aesthetic, incorporating the historic character of the Northern Hotel building. The business emphasizes community engagement and inclusive options for customers with dietary restrictions.
