Greeley Accelerator Selects Five Startups for Fall Cohort Focused on Agriculture and Energy Innovation
Five early-stage companies with technologies ranging from AI-powered horse facial recognition to advanced drone services for farms have been selected for the latest round of Greeley's startup accelerator program, city officials announced October 2.
The gBETA Greeley accelerator will provide the five companies with seven weeks of intensive coaching, mentor connections and access to potential investors through a partnership between the City of Greeley and national venture firm gener8tor. The free program takes no equity from participating startups and charges no fees.
"Innovation is alive in Greeley, and this cohort proves it," said Derrek Jerred, Economic Development Manager for the City of Greeley. "These startups show that you don't have to move to a big city to make a big impact—you can build it right here."
The Fall 2025 cohort includes AeroApplied, which provides drone technology for precision agriculture spraying and oil and gas inspections; Datag, which uses artificial intelligence for facial recognition of horses and companion animals; Earth Science Agency, which is standardizing access to U.S. well data through mapping and AI tools; Impacto, an AI platform for environmental compliance in the energy sector; and Meshcomm Engineering, which manufactures communications modules for equipment manufacturers.
Targeting Regional Industry Strengths
The program represents Greeley's strategic effort to build startup infrastructure aligned with the region's agriculture, manufacturing and energy sectors rather than competing directly with larger Front Range ecosystems in Boulder and Denver.
Greeley launched the gBETA partnershipwith gener8tor in 2024, according to the City of Greeley. The inaugural cohort operated in fall 2024, making this the program's second round of company selections.
The accelerator operates from the Ambry coworking space and includes partnerships with established Greeley companies including Leprino Foods and JBS USA. Program activities feature lunch-and-learn sessions, pitch events and ongoing alumni support designed to keep companies rooted in the local business community.
gener8tor's national gBETA network has facilitated over $796 million in capital raises and supported creation of more than 4,800 jobs across the U.S. and Canada since launching in 2015, according to the firm. Specific economic outcomes from Greeley's accelerator cohorts have not yet been publicly documented.
Mentor Recruitment and Showcase Event
The program currently seeks agriculture, manufacturing and energy mentors to work with the fall cohort. Interested mentors can contact program manager Allie Reitz at [email protected].
Participating founders will pitch their companies to investors, community partners and the public at the Fall 2025 gBETA Showcase from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on November 7. The event provides opportunities for startups to connect with potential funding sources and strategic partners.
The selected companies will receive one-on-one coaching throughout the seven-week program and gain access to gener8tor's national network of mentors, customers, corporate partners and investors. Unlike traditional accelerators that take equity stakes, the gBETA model allows founders to retain full ownership of their companies.
Municipal Investment in Startup Development
Cities including Greeley typically fund gBETA programs through contracts with gener8tor as part of broader economic development strategies, according to gener8tor organizational materials. The municipal funding covers program delivery, coaching and operational costs while eliminating financial barriers for participating startups.
Greeley's approach contrasts with startup ecosystems in Fort Collins, Boulder and Denver, which feature multiple accelerator programs, established venture capital networks and extensive support infrastructure for technology companies. The city designed its accelerator to direct investment, mentorship and networking toward startups in sectors where Greeley maintains established industrial strengths.
