Greeley Equipment Dealer 4Rivers Partners with Trimble to Offer Advanced Construction Technology
Greeley-based 4Rivers Equipment has been named an authorized Trimble Technology Outlet, expanding access to advanced grade control and positioning systems for construction contractors across Colorado, New Mexico and the El Paso, Texas area.
The partnership allows the nearly 100-year-old John Deere dealership to directly sell Trimble's construction technology solutions, including grade control systems, site positioning equipment and GPS correction services. These technologies help contractors improve accuracy on earthwork projects while reducing costs and construction timelines.
"Our John Deere customers have been wanting easier access to Trimble technology, and we are pleased that we can finally meet this demand," said Danny Bratton, general manager at 4Rivers Equipment. The company will provide installation, service and training support for the technology systems.
For Northern Colorado contractors working on infrastructure projects, subdivisions and commercial developments, these systems can significantly impact project outcomes. According to industry data from Trimble, grade control technology improves earthwork tolerances from several inches to one inch or less, potentially reducing earthwork costs by 10-20 percent through decreased material waste and reduced need for rework.
The technology combines GPS receivers, sensors and digital displays to guide excavators, dozers and graders with real-time feedback. Site positioning systems connect field teams to digital project models, ensuring work matches precise design specifications with centimeter-level accuracy.
4Rivers Equipment operates as a private, employee-owned business that has served Northern Colorado's agricultural and construction equipment markets since the early 20th century. The Greeley-based company provides a significant presence in both agricultural and construction sectors across Larimer and Weld Counties, supporting local infrastructure development and farm operations.
The partnership reflects broader changes in Colorado's construction equipment distribution market, where dealers increasingly serve as one-stop sources for both traditional heavy machinery and advanced digital construction tools. The North America construction equipment market was valued at over $229.9 million in 2024, according to Market Data Forecast, with Colorado representing a significant share due to ongoing infrastructure investments.
"The goal of our expanded distribution network is to make it easier for customers of all machine types to integrate Trimble technology into their workflows," said Ron Bisio, senior vice president of field systems at Trimble.
The technology offering includes Trimble Works Subscription bundles, which provide contractors with flexible pricing options and hardware coverage for civil construction technology. For smaller contractors and those new to digital construction methods, the local support structure offers particular benefits through on-site installation and staff training.
As Colorado municipalities increasingly move toward requiring digital documentation and model-based construction for public projects, having dealer-supported technology helps local companies maintain regulatory compliance while competing more effectively on infrastructure contracts.
The announcement comes as Fort Collins-area companies continue expanding programs to help entrepreneurs access technology and financing solutions for business growth.
