Gallop Transit plans new Route 8 to UCHealth, schedule changes in January

Riders can talk through trip options with staff at open houses Nov. 16-18 in Fort Collins and Greeley; the changes also affect Poudre Express trips between Greeley, Windsor and Fort Collins.

Gallop Transit, formerly Greeley-Evans Transit, plans a new Route 8 connecting Greeley Mall and UCHealth, along with schedule changes to Routes 1 and 5 and to Poudre Express trips, beginning in January 2027.

The small schedule changes to Routes 1 and 5 are intended to help buses arrive on time, Gallop Transit said. The Poudre Express changes affect trips between Greeley, Windsor and Fort Collins.

Gallop Transit has scheduled three open houses in November:

  • Nov. 16, noon to 5 p.m., Lory Student Center, 1101 Center Ave., Fort Collins
  • Nov. 17, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., University Center, 2101 10th Ave., Greeley
  • Nov. 18, any time from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., 101 11th Ave., Greeley

Riders can attend any of the three to learn about the changes, ask questions and review trip options with staff. Gallop Transit staff will be available to answer questions, review schedules and help riders plan trips.

"Route 8 is an exciting addition for our riders," said Michelle Johnson, mobility manager with the City of Greeley. "This connection will help people get to appointments, get to work, and make everyday trips by bus."

Updated schedules and a new Route 8 map and ride guide will help riders prepare for the changes, Gallop Transit said. More information is available at https://greeleyco.gov/transit/.
