Erie to install speed humps on Fletcher Drive Nov. 9-13

Work is scheduled daily from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with partial lane closures and flaggers directing traffic. The town says the changes are intended to slow drivers and improve neighborhood safety.

The Town of Erie Transportation Team will install speed humps and pavement markings along Fletcher Drive in the Northridge neighborhood from Monday, Nov. 9, through Friday, Nov. 13.

Work hours are 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily. Residents should expect temporary traffic impacts, including partial lane closures on Fletcher Drive, with flaggers directing traffic through work areas. No full road closures are planned.

Motorists are asked to slow down, follow flagger directions and use extra caution near crews and equipment. A map showing the project location is available online.

The improvements are intended to reduce vehicle speeds and improve safety throughout the neighborhood, the Town of Erie said. Speed humps encourage drivers to slow down on residential streets, creating a safer environment for residents, pedestrians, cyclists and children, the town said.

The pavement markings add visibility and alert motorists to upcoming traffic-calming features so they can adjust their speed in advance, the town said.
