Larimer County earns two workers’ compensation awards

From the Larimer County Board of County Commissioners meeting of

Larimer County received two national workers’ compensation awards in 2026: the WCI award and the Theo Award, Jody Shadduck-McNally said. The WCI award, given by the Workers’ Compensation Institute in conjunction with propertyandcasualty360.com, goes to three entities annually; Larimer County is the sixth public entity to receive it, a speaker said. The Theo Award, from National Comp and Risk and Insurance Magazine, recognizes exemplary employers and achievements in workers’ compensation and injury prevention; Larimer County was recognized alongside Verizon, Fox Network, Marriott Hotels, Walmart and the City of Los Angeles, a speaker said. A speaker said the county had fewer injuries and spent less on claims in 2025 than in 2011, while its employee base grew almost 30% between those years. A speaker said Road and Bridge’s losses have fallen 50% and remained at that level since the peer-led Rock Solid at Work exercise and stretching program began about nine years ago.
