How to request voter address privacy in Larimer County
The request can be sent by mail, email or in person, but it does not hide addresses in other public records.
Larimer County voters who meet the eligibility rules can request to keep their voter-registration addresses confidential under the county’s voter confidentiality form. The form says the request does not hide addresses in other public records.
Here’s who qualifies, how to apply and what happens to voter lists.
Who can request to have a voter-registration address kept confidential?
You can request confidentiality under one of three categories on the voter confidentiality form:
- You are or have been a first responder, or the spouse or civil union partner of one. The form includes peace officers, firefighters, volunteer firefighters, emergency medical service providers and emergency communications specialists as first responders.
- You are or have been a member of a protected profession, or the spouse or family member of one. The form’s list of protected professions includes educators, health-care workers, judges, election officials and election workers.
- You believe that you or an immediate family member living in your household will face criminal harassment or bodily harm if your address is not kept confidential.
Which voter-registration details are public, and which are confidential?
Larimer County’s July 2024 presentation describes voter-registration records as public records. Larimer County’s July 2024 presentation lists full names, residential and mailing addresses, party affiliation and date of affiliation as public information. It also lists phone numbers if provided, gender, birth year and whether a voter voted in prior elections.
Driver’s license numbers, full dates of birth, email addresses and Social Security numbers are private information. The presentation says the list contains only the last four digits of a Social Security number.
How do I submit a confidentiality request?
You can submit the Make Your Voter Registration Confidential form by mail, email or in person. The form’s requirements are:
To request voter-registration address confidentiality
Provide your current name as it appears on your voter-registration record. If you have a Colorado driver’s license or Colorado ID card, provide its number. If you have neither, you may provide the last four digits of your Social Security number. If you have none of those, check the form’s box; you may be required to provide acceptable identification from the list at GoVoteColorado.gov.
Make Your Voter Registration Confidential formProvide the address where you live in Colorado; it cannot be a P.O. box. If you are without housing, you may give the address you regularly return to as your residence and must provide a mailing address. If you receive mail somewhere other than your residence, provide that address too; a P.O. box is allowed for mail.
Select one request category, then sign or mark and date the affirmation under penalty of perjury. If you cannot sign, you may make a mark and have a witness sign the witness section after seeing you make it.
Submit the form to Larimer County Elections by mail, email or in person.

Will a request remove my information from voter lists already released?
No. Larimer County’s July 2024 presentation said confidential-voter status would remove your information from future lists, but not from editions already released.
The county excludes voters who have requested confidential status from its data reports, except when records are provided to a Designated Election Official to conduct an election. Its 2026 General Election Voters with Ballots List excludes confidential voters. That list shows ballot status, including whether a voter returned a ballot, and is available for download once each business day during an active election cycle after mail-in ballots are mailed.
What other voter-privacy protections are available?
First responders and their spouses or civil union partners may be eligible to keep additional address information in other public records confidential. The form directs them to contact their county clerk about those options. A voter-registration confidentiality request is not a substitute for the Address Confidentiality Program.
Larimer County’s July 2024 presentation says survivors of domestic violence, sexual offenses or stalking may enroll in Colorado’s Address Confidentiality Program. Voters in that program will not have their voter information released to the public.
