Weld County detectives search for man accused of fatal Greeley-area shooting
Patrol responded just before 1:30 a.m. Nov. 1.
Weld County detectives are searching for Mamre Bojorquez, 20, who is accused of shooting two men, one of whom died, at a Halloween party at a residence in the 2200 block of East 16th Street near Greeley, police said. Patrol responded just before 1:30 a.m. Nov. 1.
Police describe Bojorquez as male, 5'6" to 5'10" tall, weighing 200 to 220 pounds, with brown eyes. They say he frequents the Greeley area. Police urged anyone who knows where he is not to approach him and to call local law enforcement immediately.
A fight broke out among several partygoers at the Halloween party, police said. Bojorquez allegedly shot two adult male victims. One is dead. The other was taken to a local hospital.
Bojorquez reportedly fled the scene of the shooting. Police reported that the Colorado State Patrol later tried to stop the vehicle he was driving because it matched the description in the WCSO shooting BOLO, a law enforcement lookout notice.
Bojorquez failed to yield to the Colorado State Patrol and crashed the vehicle on Highway 34 near Highway 85, police said. He fled the crash scene on foot and was still at large at the time of the update.
People with information about the incident can call the sheriff's office tip line at (970) 304-6464 or email [email protected].
The Weld County Coroner will release the dead man's name after notifying next of kin, police said. They said the investigation is active and ongoing and that no further information would be released that day.
