Timnath approves up to $240,000 for expansion planning

From the Timnath Town Council meeting of

Timnath approved up to $240,000 for initial design and preconstruction work on a two-story, 6,800- to 7,000-square-foot addition planned for the south side of Town Center. The fee includes a design fee equal to 7.5% of the construction budget, $10,000 for programming at 4800 Goodman and $5,000 in preconstruction fees; the purchase authorization lists a $250,000 budget, a $240,000 purchase request and $10,000 remaining. The project also includes reviewing Town Center spaces for efficiencies and possible workstations, and assessing whether the Public Works and Parks building at 4800 Goodman could become a dedicated maintenance facility. That review would estimate renovation costs before the town considers renovation or other options. The proposal calls for evaluating design choices against the Town's approximately $3 million construction planning allowance. The staff report says a Guaranteed Maximum Price amendment and the construction manager's fee are to be brought to the council later.

Adopted with the consent agenda (carried).
