WCR 5 sidewalk repairs set to resume Thursday north of Flora View Drive
An officer will direct traffic while the signal flashes red in all directions, and drivers should expect delays. The town says the final section, just north of Colliers Parkway, is expected to take two days next week, with a single-lane closure.
CASI is scheduled to resume sidewalk repairs on WCR 5 north of Flora View Drive Thursday, Oct. 29, and Friday, Oct. 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
The Flora View Drive traffic signal will be set to a four-way flashing red, and a uniformed traffic control officer will direct traffic through the work zone. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use caution around crews and equipment.
Last week, contractor CASI encountered subgrade issues during the sidewalk repairs and could not complete the work. Once this work is complete, CASI will move to the final phase, a section just north of Colliers Parkway. The final phase is expected to take two days next week, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day, with a single-lane closure, the Town of Erie said. Dates for the final phase will be shared once this week's work is complete.
