Sheriff's office says 14-year-old shot 10-year-old relative near Erie
The girl was taken to a local hospital, and detectives are still investigating. The sheriff’s office says it will share more information when it can be released.
Patrol responded to a shooting shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday at a residence in the 2200 block of Weld County Road 10 near Erie, the Weld County Sheriff’s Office said. During the investigation, deputies learned that a 14-year-old male shot a 10-year-old female relative, the sheriff’s office said.
The female victim was taken to a local hospital.
Weld County Sheriff’s Office detectives are still actively investigating the case. The sheriff’s office will update the public and the media when more releasable information becomes available.
