Draft would create North College coalition

From the Fort Collins Urban Renewal Authority Board meeting of

The proposed charter would create a 15-seat coalition to help shape North College redevelopment from planning through implementation, beginning with 1636 North College and related superblock opportunities. Six seats would represent residents and resident-led groups, two small businesses, three community-serving or anchor institutions, two delivery, development or funding partners, and two at-large perspectives; the eight resident and business seats would form a community-rooted majority, with membership and selection still open for Board direction. The coalition could shape project recommendations, weigh community benefit and feasibility, and monitor community benefits, but would decide matters only under authority expressly delegated by the FCURA Board, which would retain final authority over reserved financial, property and contractual actions. The draft proposes participation supports including compensation, interpretation, childcare and transportation, but would neither appropriate money nor activate a delegation. It calls for refinement with community and partner input in late October and November, followed by Board consideration in December 2026.
