Dacono officials expected to consider adopting growth, housing plans in December
The drafts set a long-term vision for growth, assess housing conditions and outline possible responses to housing challenges. Residents can review the documents on the city's website.
Dacono's Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council are expected to consider adopting three plans in December that the city says will help guide growth, development and housing priorities over the next decade.
Dacono is nearing completion of its updated Comprehensive Plan, Housing Needs Assessment and Housing Action Plan after more than a year of planning, research and community engagement. The Comprehensive Plan sets out a long-term vision for growth and development, including considerations such as water supply and strategic growth. The Housing Needs Assessment evaluates existing housing conditions and identifies housing needs and affordability gaps in the community. The Housing Action Plan outlines potential actions and strategies to address housing challenges and prepare for future needs.
Residents are encouraged to review the final draft documents. The plans and more information are available on the city's website.
Dacono residents had numerous opportunities to share their thoughts and provide feedback during the planning process. Resident input played an essential role in shaping the plans and ensuring they reflect the needs and priorities of the growing community, the city said. The documents will help the city balance new development with continued care and improvement of Dacono's existing neighborhoods.
