General Fund primary taxes $640,263 above budget

From the Loveland City Council meeting of

General Fund primary tax revenue through August was $640,263, or 1.0%, above budget and $500,041 above last year, according to the packet. The presentation said sales tax, the fund’s largest revenue source, was slightly ahead of expectations, while property-tax collections were slightly above the 2026 forecast. Stronger collections in those categories offset shortfalls in Building Materials Use Tax and Auto Use Tax. Building Materials Use Tax was $1.2M, or 35.8%, below budget and $2.3M, or 51.3%, below last year through August. The city expects it to remain lower throughout 2026, citing unusually large permits in 2025. Auto Use Tax was $207,609, or 6.5%, below budget and $180,455, or 5.7%, below last year. Staff is monitoring sales tax and will communicate if forecast revisions are warranted.

Adopted with the consent agenda (carried, 8-0).
