Two Weld County health workers honored

Annette Odel was named recipient of the Lilian Wald Award, and Ofelia Mares De Orozco was named recipient of the Lifetime Distinguished Public Health Service Award. Shawn May said the Lillian Wald Award recognizes public health nurses for leadership, clinical expertise, compassion and commitment to improving community health, and said Odel had served Weld County residents as a nurse practitioner for more than 20 years. May said Odel had taught and mentored him during the six years he had worked alongside her, including about the clinics, health care and public service.
