Greeley housing director named 2026 Director of Housing of the Year, city says

The city says the award recognizes her leadership, experience and efforts to expand housing options. Her team is also providing down-payment assistance and using land banking to support future development.

Gov Business Review named Greeley Housing Director Deb Callies its 2026 Director of Housing of the Year, the City of Greeley said.

The award recognizes Callies’ leadership, more than 20 years of experience and commitment to expanding housing opportunities, the city said. It also recognizes her approach to housing leadership and work to create more housing options for Greeley residents.

“Where we live determines what opportunities we have for economic growth, education, healthcare and mental health care,” Callies said in the award profile published by Gov Business Review.

Helping Greeley create more mixed-income neighborhoods as it grows is one of Callies’ key priorities, the city said. Greeley’s Housing for All Strategic Plan identifies mixed-income neighborhoods as a key goal. Reaching that goal requires planning, funding and partnerships to create housing options for people across income levels.

Callies’ team is exploring local funding and providing down payment assistance through programs such as GHOPE, the city said. The team is also reviewing regulations that may add costs or delay projects and using land banking to support future development.
