Would appropriate $60,000 for wastewater network
The ordinance would appropriate $60,000 from prior-year Wastewater Fund reserves for One Water’s Utility Network project. The money would remain available until the project is complete rather than lapse at fiscal year-end, and the ordinance would take effect October 30, 2026. The staff report says the funding would pay for professional services to integrate Wastewater’s GIS data with Maximo, enabling work orders and asset-location tracking in daily field operations. It says beginning the migration work in 2026 would maintain the project schedule; because utility migrations are sequential, a delay would also delay the Water and Stormwater migrations. Without the appropriation, this phase would have been scheduled for the 2027/2028 Wastewater Utilities Capital Improvement Plan. The report says Wastewater Fund reserves are available, the fund is projected to end 2026 above the city’s reserve target, and the appropriation would not affect the 2027/2028 Recommended Budget.
