Runway project would get $935,499

From the Fort Collins City Council meeting of

The ordinance would appropriate $935,499 for the Northern Colorado Regional Airport runway project: $607,759 in anticipated FAA grant revenue and $327,740 from prior-year Airport Fund reserves. The project would widen the airport’s only operational runway from 100 to 150 feet, upgrading lighting, drainage, taxiways and pavement markings. The appropriation would remain available until completion, raising the project budget to approximately $20,696,758. The agenda summary says the FAA indicated $607,759 in additional 2026 grant funds was likely to be available, with release upon completion; if awarded, the grant would require an amended agreement and a $327,740 local match. The $935,498.82 itemized request includes $585,280.56 for Amrize Change Order No. 1, $15,505 for Change Order No. 2, $149,523.98 for nighttime inspection and testing, and $24,859.28 for FAA lighting checks, locally funded and excluded from the federal request. The agenda summary says the appropriation would have no City General Fund impact and leave approximately $2,300,000 in unassigned Airport Fund balance after approval.
