Fort Collins
City would join NISP for Glade storage
Resolution 2026-120 would authorize the City Manager to sign an interim participation agreement and a storage agreement with the Northern Integrated Supply Project Water Activity Enterprise, contingent on Ordinance No. 148, 2026, receiving final adoption and taking effect. The interim agreement would make Fort Collins a NISP participant through December 31, 2026, for a $766,154 contribution toward project costs from May 1 through December 31, 2026; it covers 1,200 units, or 5.80% of NISP’s 2026 contribution. The storage agreement would set terms for diverting, storing and releasing the City’s Southside Ditches water in Glade Reservoir, subject to inlet capacity, water-right priority and confirmation that existing permits cover the activity. Fort Collins would pay the costs of connecting Glade’s outlet facilities to its water system and of diverting, storing and releasing its water. The current storage agreement would be replaced by a final one when the City signs a NISP allotment contract, anticipated in 2027, and would be void if the City does not sign one.
