Visit Loveland joins state accessible travel program
Participants receive on-site accessibility assessments, specialized training for hospitality professionals and marketing support. The tourism office and Wheel the World will work with each destination on ongoing accessibility efforts.
Visit Loveland is one of three new participants announced for the Colorado Tourism Office’s 2026 Accessible Travel Program.
The program works with Wheel the World, a travel platform specializing in accessible tourism, to advance accessible tourism in Colorado destinations, the Colorado Tourism Office said. Selected destinations receive on-site accessibility assessments, specialized training for hospitality professionals and marketing support to promote Accessibility Verified destinations and sites on Wheel the World’s platform and colorado.com. The office and Wheel the World will work closely with each selected destination to implement the program and advance ongoing accessibility efforts.
In 2025, 22% of travel parties that visited Colorado included an individual that required accessibility service, a share over 25% higher than the industry norm, the office said. “Colorado communities are continuing to demonstrate how travel can be inclusive when accessibility is purposefully integrated into every journey,” said Lieutenant Governor Dianne Primavera. Through the initiative and growth outside the program, Colorado now has 10 destinations and over 270 sites with Accessibility Verified status, including attractions, accommodations, restaurants, retail, trails, guide services and gondolas, the office said.
